Steve Marsh He recently crossed a new milestone of 150,000 miles (over 240,000 km) driven in his 2011 Nissan LEAF (with the original battery)). This in Washington state.

"Reliability – very good, if not excellent.  That being said, There is no more regeneration – going down a hill in ecomode is like being in neutral.  From a start, it accelerates like there is a parachute hanging out the back while in ecomode but nothing goes back into the battery.

The only other issue I have had is that the brakes grab and release when applied lightly while the battery is in LB or VLB.  I attributed this to trying to regenerate but no place for the energy to go.  I haven’t taken it in to be looked at because it is only very apparent during specific circumstances that are repeatable." - Steve Marsh

Battery still works but holds 7 out of 12 battery capacity bars (below 60% of capacity) and is rated at 147 GIDS - so more precisely 52% of the original capacity remains.

Why? You wanna replace the bearing in your motor perhaps.

Using a torch: "Common practise"

I would protect the winding, even though the probably can take 140 degress before melting.

Use a blow torch.

Next method:

The grease gives hydraulic pressure as you force it in, and the rag serves not only to wick the grease in, but to seal the shaft so the pressure works on the bearing. Genius!

Push in grease into the bearing that you can't get out.

After full of grease, add small strips into the center hole

Use a tight drill or something similar to tap into the center hole.

Hopefully the bearing will come out.

This is how it looks when out.

Use bar soap, shave pieces slide them in and tap drift.. no rags needed works every time

Dry ice / solid carbon dioxide:

Can be made using a CO2 fire extinguiser, us gloves and protect yourself with clothes and so on.

Then put a cap/hat on the hose and try catch it when you turn it on.

Aluminium plate below will pull the heat away from it.

It's shrinking.. Measuring

"Bearings should never be heated too much, even the ones without sealing. INA recommends 100°C for mounting.  120°C  should not be exceeded to avoid a loss of strength of the bearing races. In most cases it is sufficient to heat one part to 100°C and to cool the other part in the refrigerator to -25°C."

P. Silverplats is living high up north in Sweden:

When you live at the top of Sweden where it is -25 to -40 degress celcius right now.

It's a Webasto Diesel Heater.

Some say that the diesel heaters you have on trucks only work with diesel / HVO, not RME or frying oil.

Dacia Spring, cheap electric car

The Dacia Spring is based on Renault Kwid, launched 2015 for the Indian market. A very cheap model.

It becamed updated with better safety a few years lator for the Chinese market. They also improved the technology and gave it a fully electric power source.

Det behöver vara 2013 för att säkringen ska hålla på batteriet. Går alltså inte att göra på en 2011 eller 2012 årsmodell.

Invertern måste byta koppling från fyrkant till runt. Koppla rätt färg vid konvertering. En kabel är annorlunda. Lila orange tror jag (se video).

Sitter i den fula modellen som ser lite väl spacig ut.

My2013, have 6.6kW charger.

Inverter turns DC power to the motor (3-phase AC synchronous).

The top cover has aligment pins so can be a bit hard to pull open, be gentle.
